On August 15, the Federal Finance Minister of Canada was the Guest Speaker at a Special Luncheon, organized by the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce. The sold out event took place at the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg.

Telpay was pleased to be a major sponsor and hosted a Pre-Lunch Reception.   Representing Telpay were W.H. (Bill) Loewen, founder and special advisor to the Board of Directors.  Howard W. Loewen, who is a Director.  John Zajic, who is Manager of Trust Operations and Chris Epp-Vollrath, President who stated, “Overall it was a great chance to mingle with other Manitoba Chamber members and more importantly a chance to speak with The Honourable Joe Oliver in person.”

The Honourable Joe Oliver has extensive experience in both the financial and political fields. Mr. Oliver has been a member of the Canadian House of Commons since May 2011. He was appointed as Minister of Natural Resources until March 2014, when he became Minister of Finance. Prior to being elected into Parliament, Mr. Oliver worked in the investment banking industry.

It was a great opportunity to learn more about the Government of Canada’s current financial vision and network with others in the industry.
