clara-telpay-sponsor

After 93 days on the road, and covering more than 9,000 kilometers, Clara Hughes arrived home in Winnipeg. Just in case you hadn’t heard. Clara Hughes, a six-time Olympic Medalist, is cycling the circumference of Canada in her epic journey called Clara’s Big Ride, as the spokesperson for Bell Let’s Talk about mental illness.

Telpay was a proud sponsor of the VIP Room at Manitoba’s Big Social and our very own house band Telpay & the Direct Deposits played. With over 500 people in attendance, including 28 of us from Team Telpay, the social was a big success and fun too. The highlight of the night was meeting Clara. We were all so impressed with Clara’s kindness and her genuine interest in others. She is not only a super hero, but a super human too. Later Clara wowed the crowd with an inspirational and heart-felt message. It was truly a memorable night.

asp-electronic-payments

A three part series on “going electronic” with your business payments.

Switching from cheques to electronic payments for most businesses is definitely the way to go. In order for accounting professional to help prospects and clients find the right payment solution, it is important to understand how other electronic payments work in comparison to Telpay.

Over the next three articles, I will reveal many key points of going electronic that I encourage you to share in your sales presentations. In my last article, I will compile everything together to create a checklist, that you can reference to help transition your clients to electronic payments.

Before I begin, let’s clarify: What does it mean to go electronic? I am referring to the solutions that are designed to replace regular cheque or credit card business payments.

Many businesses are encouraging their customers to pay by EFT, to save on the rising costs of credit cards, which is why Telpay is becoming important in the Canadian payments landscape.

Let’s Stay Connected Under CASL

Stay Connected with Telpay

On July 1, 2014, the Canada Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) will take effect. The purpose of the legislation is to specifically limit the spam messages that Canadians receive electronically. CASL has placed strict restraints on businesses in regards to whom they are allowed to send Commercial Electronic Messages (CEMs) to and what sort of content must be included in these messages.

What does this mean for you as a customer of Telpay?
Under CASL, Telpay must receive consent from individuals to continue to contact them through electronic means such as email.

What we’re doing to stay connected.
Here at Telpay, we are making certain preparations to ensure we comply with the legislation. Over the next few days we will be sending a request to our Telpay for Business customers to opt-in to continue receiving Telpay news that includes notification of future events, webinars, new products and services and promotional offers.
