Celebrated every year on April 22, Earth Day is the largest environmental event in the world. More than six million Canadians — from students to organizations to businesses — participate in an Earth Day activity in their communities. The goal is to foster and celebrate environmental respect, action and behaviour change that adds up to a substantial improvement for the environment, when we all work together.
Telpay was excited to participate again in the Winnipeg Downtown Biz’s Earth Day Clean Up. Winnipeggers are not only friendly, but in 2012 they pulled together to pick up 1600 pounds of litter. In 2013, they picked up 2000 pounds of litter and this year’s goal is to pick up 2500 pounds!
Telpay is very proud to be headquartered downtown Winnipeg, be part of our community and more importantly give back. This annual event was a chance to clean up downtown Winnipeg, team build and we get to meet our downtown neighbours too. Building on our past participation, for Earth Day 2014 we ramped it up with excellent staff participation, cool blue T-shirts and we have a new mascot “Telpay Tish,” that was created by our very talented Cheryl Mains, who is the Executive Assistant at Telpay.
